ADI Predictstreet Receives Approval to Expand Markets Post-World Cup

ADI Predictstreet, licensed in Gibraltar and recognized as FIFA’s Official Prediction Market Partner for the 2026 World Cup, has received regulatory approval to expand its offerings beyond football. The company announced its intention on Thursday to launch prediction markets across various sectors, including other sports, entertainment, culture, weather, and select political events.

Following a thorough review of its operations, Gibraltar’s regulatory authorities have approved ADI Predictstreet’s initial regulatory framework. This endorsement enables the platform to implement a phased rollout of new, regulated prediction markets as it moves beyond the football season.

Dimitrios Psarrakis, CEO of ADI Predictstreet, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “Successfully completing this first phase with Gibraltar validates both our platform and our approach to responsible innovation.” He further noted that while sports serve as the initial focus for their global launch, the company's long-term vision is to create a platform that allows users to predict a range of real-world events that impact society.

Having first launched in Gibraltar, ADI Predictstreet marked its presence as the peninsula's premier prediction market.

Support from Gibraltar authorities has been vital. Nigel Feetham, KC MP and Gibraltar’s minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, referred to the regulatory approval as a sign of “forward-looking regulation” that encourages new market opportunities and attracts innovative businesses. He observed that the partnership with the World Cup and other international ventures has enhanced Gibraltar’s standing in the global financial and regulatory environment.

However, challenges remain, notably with Germany’s Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL), which has initiated a formal investigation into the platform’s advertising practices. Since ADI Predictstreet does not possess a license to operate in Germany, the regulator is assessing whether the company is engaged in illegal gambling under local laws. The platform's advertising, which has been prevalent during World Cup matches, is also under scrutiny for possible violations of Germany’s restrictions on marketing by unlicensed operators.

To enhance its market liquidity and broaden its geographic reach, ADI Predictstreet has formed partnerships with recognized firms, including Kalshi, Fanatics Markets (U.S.), Matchbook (U.K., Ireland, and Brazil), and DAZN. The platform is built on “ADI Chain,” an institutional blockchain designed for compliance, utilizing ZKsync’s Airbender zero-knowledge proof technology.
