ADI Predictstreet Expands Offerings Post-World Cup Approval

ADI Predictstreet, a prediction market platform based in Gibraltar and recognized as FIFA’s Official Prediction Market Partner for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, has received approval from regulatory authorities to expand its offerings beyond football. On Thursday, the company announced its intentions to broaden its prediction markets to include various sectors such as sports, entertainment, culture, weather, and select political events. Following a thorough assessment of its operations, Gibraltar’s regulatory bodies have allowed ADI Predictstreet to implement a phased rollout of these new regulated prediction markets after the football season concludes.

Dimitrios Psarrakis, the chief executive of ADI Predictstreet, underscored the significance of this regulatory clearance. He stated, "Successfully completing this first phase with Gibraltar validates both our platform and our approach to responsible innovation." Psarrakis pointed out that while sports provide an excellent starting point for their global initiative, the company aims to create a platform that enables users to predict various real-world events impacting society. Initially launched in Gibraltar, ADI Predictstreet stands as the peninsula's first prediction market.

Support for the platform comes from Gibraltar's government. Nigel Feetham, KC MP and Gibraltar’s minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, characterized the regulatory approval as evidence of “forward-looking regulation” that nurtures new market developments and attracts inventive businesses. He remarked on the significant global visibility gained through the World Cup partnership and other international efforts as a sign of Gibraltar’s evolving financial and regulatory landscape.

However, the platform faces challenges in Germany, where the Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) has initiated a formal investigation into its advertising practices, as ADI Predictstreet lacks a license to operate in the country. The GGL is assessing whether the platform's activities might constitute illegal gambling under German law. The scrutiny extends to its advertisements that have prominently featured during World Cup matches, as they may violate Germany’s regulations regarding unlicensed gambling marketing.

To enhance its market liquidity and expand its geographic presence, ADI Predictstreet has established partnerships with notable firms, including Kalshi, Fanatics Markets (based in the U.S.), Matchbook (operating in the UK, Ireland, and Brazil), and DAZN. The platform is built on “ADI Chain,” a compliance-ready institutional blockchain that utilizes ZKsync’s Airbender zero-knowledge proof technology.
