Esportes da Sorte Group has completed its acquisition of Apostou.com, which operates BETBR Loterias, a company licensed by the Secretariat of Lotteries and Betting (SPA) and firmly established in Brazil, particularly in Paraná. This acquisition also includes Apostou.com’s other brands, B1BET and BRBET, enhancing Esportes da Sorte’s foothold in the fifth-largest betting market globally and reaffirming its commitment to the regulated sector.
The Brazilian betting market has been experiencing rapid growth, prompting increased merger and acquisition activity within the industry. In the first five months of 2026 alone, Brazil’s regulated betting operations generated nearly BRL6 billion ($1.2 billion) in revenue. This figure results from a 12% tax on operators’ gross gaming revenue (GGR), along with various corporate taxes. Such lucrative conditions have attracted significant interest from larger operators seeking to acquire smaller companies.
Esportes da Sorte operates additional brands, Lottu and Onabet. Earlier in 2024, the company secured its federal license from SPA after acquiring a controlling interest in ST Soft Desenvolvimento de Programas de Computadores Ltda, which also owned another brand named Apostou, accredited by Loterj since 2023.
Esportes Gaming Brasil has held a definitive license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting since 2025, and two of its three brands are ranked among Brazil's top ten betting operators. According to Blask’s rankings for early 2026, Esportes da Sorte is in sixth place, while Onabet is ranked tenth. Betano is currently the market leader, followed by bet365.
Before obtaining the national license, the group’s acquisition of ST Soft ensured its presence in the national market while waiting for the federal license, as Loterj-licensed companies were permitted to operate nationwide under the assumption that Loterj’s servers were centralized in Rio de Janeiro.
The acquisition is currently under review by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE (Public Notice No. 464), and is being led by HS Gaming Participações, a subsidiary of Esportes Gaming Brasil.
The Brazilian betting sector has long been appealing to both domestic and international firms. For instance, Flutter Entertainment recently secured a controlling stake in Betnacional, which is ranked seventh in Blask's analysis and already operated Betfair in Brazil. Similarly, Esportes da Sorte's acquisition of Apostou.com is aimed at broadening its operational reach in the country.
ANA Gaming, which owns the 7K, Cassino, and Vera brands, is another active player in Brazil’s acquisition landscape. The group recently completed the acquisition of Aposta Tudo, building on its previous acquisitions of Donald Bet and Ponto Bet.
