Genius Sports has this week announced two key partnerships with prediction market operators Polymarket and Kalshi, both regulated in the United States, as it seeks to enhance the provision of official sports data.
With the partnership with Polymarket, announced on Tuesday, Genius Sports will deliver real-time event data and league integrity services. The collaboration enables Polymarket, under the supervision of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to offer exclusive live streaming rights for select competitions, notably Italy’s Serie A, targeting an audience in the U.S. Additionally, Genius Sports will aid in digital marketing through its media properties owned by Legend.
The arrangement aims to pair live streams of Serie A matches with relevant real-time event contracts, thereby fostering increased fan engagement linked to prediction markets. Polymarket acknowledged that this partnership allows sports leagues to monitor prediction market activities in real time and identify any irregular trading patterns.
Ari Borod, Polymarket’s president of sports business development, remarked, “Live streaming, official data, and integrity infrastructure play an important role in establishing an engaging product that customers can depend on.” Sean Conroy, Executive Vice President of rights and partnerships at Genius Sports, added that as the prediction market category expands, integrity safeguards are essential. He stated, “By bringing together official data, live streaming, league IP, integrity services, and the reach of our Legend media network, we are helping Polymarket deliver a differentiated and trusted experience for sports fans across the U.S.”
On Wednesday, Genius Sports also finalized a partnership with Kalshi to provide real-time data across a comprehensive soccer portfolio, including the English Premier League, Serie A, Liga MX, Argentine Primera División, and Ligue 1 in France. This partnership will also encompass complementary marketing, media outreach, integrity services, and participation in Genius Sports’ information-sharing frameworks.
Adam Barrick, Kalshi’s head of sports partnerships, expressed pride in collaborating with Genius Sports, praising their strong reputation in delivering high-quality sports data and their commitment to ensuring the integrity of sporting competitions.
Both partnerships will take effect immediately for eligible users in the United States, representing a significant advancement in the evolution of sports prediction markets based on official data and integrity controls.
In related developments, Sportradar announced multi-year partnerships with both Kalshi and Polymarket in June. CEO Carsten Koerl was optimistic during the Q2 earnings call regarding the potential for prediction market contracts to drive revenue growth, stating, “With our premium content, global scale, and unmatched product portfolio and capabilities, the prediction market is a natural adjacency. It expands the U.S. total addressable market by opening up new states, attracting new players, and increasing engagement with sports.”
Genius Sports' recent partnership follows its acquisition of gaming media technology platform Legend, valued at $1.2 billion, which included $900 million at closing and an earnout of up to $300 million.
