The prediction markets arena continues to buzz as the year 2026 unfolds, marked by more legal proceedings, eye-catching advertisements, and fresh partnerships. Here are some noteworthy developments from last week:

**Robinhood Teams Up with Crypto.com**
In a significant move, Robinhood has become an official partner and equity stakeholder in Crypto.com’s OG.com exchange, a notable platform in the sports prediction market sector. This collaboration will see Robinhood direct certain event contract trading through OG.com’s CFTC-registered derivatives exchange, marking the largest B2B prediction market partnership for OG.com in terms of trading volumes. Additionally, Robinhood has agreed to acquire equity stakes in both Crypto.com and OG.com once OG.com becomes an independent trading entity.

Kris Marszalek, the founder and CEO of Crypto.com, remarked that this partnership represents the start of a strategic collaboration between the two companies. Since spring 2025, Robinhood has been offering sports event contracts through Kalshi and other platforms, and they currently operate Rothera, a joint-venture exchange with Susquehanna. As of September 8, Robinhood has begun to gradually introduce OG.com-powered event contracts on its app, with college and NFL contracts being routed based on the availability across the exchanges involved.

JB Mackenzie, Robinhood's VP and GM of Futures and Prediction Markets, stated, "Teaming up with Crypto.com and OG.com strengthens our position as a leader in the prediction markets space and gives us even more skin in the game. Prediction markets are becoming an increasingly meaningful way for investors to engage with the events they care about, and this deal helps us meet our growing customer demand."

**Caesars Moves to Dismiss Cayuga Nation Lawsuit**
In the legal arena, Caesars has requested a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Cayuga Nation. The lawsuit alleges that the gaming giant accepted mobile sports bets from locations within the tribe’s reservation without proper authorization.

Filed in June, the Cayuga Nation’s suit claims that Caesars violated the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) by accepting these wagers from locations on tribal lands, thereby infringing upon the tribe’s exclusive jurisdiction to regulate gaming there. In response, Caesars contends that the IGRA does not permit such claims against a private sportsbook and suggests that, because the Cayuga Nation lacks a Class III gaming compact with New York, there are no violations to contest. The company also maintains that New York regulators advised mobile sportsbook licensees to treat online bets as occurring at the operator's server locations, which are not on Cayuga Nation land.

**Polymarket Welcomes LeBron James**
In a notable endorsement move, LeBron James has been announced as a new figure for Polymarket, following the expiration of his endorsement deal with DraftKings earlier this summer. While the NBA does not explicitly prohibit players from endorsing prediction markets, it maintains a ban on promoting certain NBA-related event contracts, similar to its regulations surrounding sports betting.

**Advertising Trends in the Prediction Market**
As the NFL and college football season kick off, advertising activity ramps up. Betr has launched a new ad featuring Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier, referencing the show *Entourage*, despite critiques from its creator who dissociated himself from the ad's message. Meanwhile, Novig has released an ad that is classified as adult content on Twitter, indicating the boldness of their marketing strategy.
