OpenAI has integrated Kalshi's prediction market odds into its AI assistant, ChatGPT, making this the first time prediction markets have appeared in any of its products. This integration was reported by The New York Times and replaces one of the text input boxes that appeared when users searched for matches related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
ChatGPT now shows real-time market data from Kalshi regarding the competing teams. For instance, the odds indicate that France has a 60% chance of winning, while England is given a 55% chance.
OpenAI confirmed that this feature is specifically available for queries related to the 2026 World Cup. They also noted that the information is intended purely for informational purposes, which means users are unable to place bets directly through the application.
This new capability emerges amid the rapid expansion of prediction markets. As reported by Dune Analytics, Kalshi achieved trading volumes exceeding $33 billion last month, significantly surpassing its competitor, Polymarket. OpenAI's choice to include Kalshi's odds in ChatGPT underscores the growing importance of prediction markets as a source of information beyond just a betting avenue.
