BC.GAME Launches Online Gaming in Ghana

BC.GAME has officially launched its sports betting and online casino services in Ghana, having secured regulatory approval. Announced on Wednesday, this move marks BC.GAME's entry into its third regulated market, following its presence in Mexico and Nigeria, the latter of which it entered earlier this year.

The gaming platform is now accessible at bcgame.com.gh after receiving licensing approval from the Gaming Commission of Ghana, which oversees gambling regulation in the country.

Adrian Chen, the senior legal counsel for BC.GAME, described the launch as a significant step in the company's plans for regulated expansion. "Ghana has a well-established regulatory framework, and entering the market in accordance with local licensing requirements represents an important step in BC.GAME’s regulated growth strategy," Chen stated.

"Our focus is to operate transparently and responsibly, provide clear information to local users, and ensure our products and operational processes remain aligned with applicable Ghanaian requirements. We look forward to building a sustainable, long-term presence in the market."

Ghana is seen as a particularly enticing market for BC.GAME. The company noted the country’s robust regulatory structure for gaming, along with its highly connected population and vibrant football and digital entertainment culture.

To cater to local needs, BC.GAME has tailored its operations to provide a more accessible gaming platform for Ghanaian users. Data from H2 Gambling Capital indicates that Ghana’s online gross win is projected to hit $903.5 million in 2025, reflecting a 24% increase from the previous year's total of $729.8 million.

While the African gambling market is often regarded as dominated by the primary markets of South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, Ghana is quickly evolving into a notable player. Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of the African iGaming Alliance, highlighted that Ghana's reputation is grounded in its strong regulatory foundations. "Ghana has developed a reputation as one of West Africa’s most stable and maybe commercially attractive markets," Kesitilwe said. "It is trying to improve its regulatory maturity. The other key factor is political stability because policymakers are the ones attracting investors. Many operators now view Ghana as an important strategic growth market in the region."

BC.GAME's launch in Ghana follows Kaizen Gaming’s introduction of its Betano brand in the same market back in February.

However, BC.GAME has faced controversy in the past, having withdrawn its licence in Curaçao last December due to what it described as an increasingly hostile operating environment. This action came after a court ruling in November declared BC.GAME bankrupt, owing funds to players.

Additionally, the company lost its white label licence in the UK, raising concerns about its sponsorship deal with Leicester City, an English football club. In response to the bankruptcy claim, BC.GAME asserted that it had no liquidity or financial stability issues and is continuing to grow globally with its expansions into new regulated markets.
