Spotlight Sports Group Partners with Engage Games to Enter Gaming Market

Spotlight Sports Group is venturing into gaming for the first time through a new partnership with Engage Games, announced on Thursday. This strategic collaboration will enable Spotlight's extensive network of global sportsbook operators to utilize Engage's custom-built games, developed alongside Spotlight’s partners.

This move into gaming marks a significant milestone for Spotlight, integrating its global product distribution with Engage Games’ expertise in both free-to-play and pay-to-play formats. The transition aligns with the growing trend among operators who are embracing free-to-play games as vital tools for engagement, retention, reactivation, and acquisition of users.

The partnership will result in various game types, including fantasy, predictor, survivor, and bet builder mechanics, with racing games utilizing Spotlight’s Smart View Engine. Rob Brown, Spotlight’s B2B Growth Director, noted that this agreement enhances the company's offerings by merging Engage Games’ gaming engine with Spotlight’s data and distribution networks. "This partnership marks a significant step for SSG as we extend our product capability into the games space,” Brown stated. “In Engage Games, we have found a partner with a proven ability to deliver games that produce real commercial outcomes for partners."

Ryan Lawrence, founder of Engage Games, expressed excitement about collaborating with Spotlight Sports Group. "Partnering with SSG – one of the most trusted names in global racing and sports betting – reflects the reputation and results we’ve built, and it’s the natural next step in our mission to get better game experiences into the hands of as many players as possible," Lawrence said. He further emphasized that through Spotlight’s network, they can now present proven, performance-driven capabilities to operators and rights holders across the globe.

In the context of ongoing growth, Spotlight has been investing in expanding its product offerings. In June, the company appointed Adam Gill as its new Chief Technology Officer, who joined from market research firm Savanta. Gill’s role focuses on enhancing technology and engineering to attract new audiences. "As Racing Post enters its 40th year, there is a real opportunity to use technology to engage new audiences, deepen the value we deliver to operators and make AI a practical capability across the business,” Gill remarked.

Earlier this year, Spotlight revealed its Racing Innovation strategy for 2026, which will feature two new product releases. Among these are the Smart View Tipping Feed and the Racing Bet Builder, designed to provide operators with modern, algorithm-driven tools that enhance customer engagement and streamline the betting process.
