Phil Richards, the chief financial officer of Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), has stepped down after two and a half years in his role. On November 2, he shared his departure on LinkedIn, revealing that he had left the company in October.
In his post, Richards expressed pride in his time at GiG, highlighting significant changes during his tenure. He noted, "After two and a half years as CFO of Gaming Innovation Group, sadly October was my last month with the business. It has been a period of real change for GiG and one of which I’m immensely proud of: Starting with the IPO, alongside our significantly sharpening both the focus and quality of our platform offering whilst strengthening financial reporting and investor engagement, culminating with completing the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa."
Richards officially took on the CFO role at GiG in July 2021. Before GiG, he spent nearly six years at Kambi, where he held positions including group financial controller and vice president of finance. His time at GiG included overseeing major milestones such as the company's IPO and the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa. Previously, Richards worked in roles at Corero Network Security, Shell, and KPMG.
Looking ahead, Richards will assume the role of CFO at Chaos, a design and visualization technology firm, starting in December. He noted, "In other news, I’m delighted to share that on 1 December I’ll be joining Chaos as Chief Financial Officer. Chaos is at a very exciting stage of its growth, and I’m really looking forward to working with Iveta Cabajova and the leadership team alongside our investors to help build on that momentum."
