Phil Richards has officially departed from his role as Chief Financial Officer at Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) after two and a half years. In a LinkedIn announcement made on November 2, he confirmed that he left the company in October.
In his post, Richards expressed pride in his tenure, noting, "After two and a half years as CFO of Gaming Innovation Group, sadly October was my last month with the business. It has been a period of real change for GiG and one of which I’m immensely proud of: Starting with the IPO, alongside our significantly sharpening both the focus and quality of our platform offering whilst strengthening financial reporting and investor engagement, culminating with completing the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa."
Richards assumed the CFO position at GiG in July 2024. This was his second role in the gambling sector; prior to joining GiG, he worked at Kambi for nearly six years, holding roles including group financial controller and vice president of finance. During his time at GiG, Richards was involved in significant milestones, such as the IPO and the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa. Before his career in online gambling, he also worked at Corero Network Security, Shell, and KPMG.
Looking ahead, Richards is set to join Chaos, a company specializing in design and visualization technology, as CFO starting December 1. He shared in his post, "I’m delighted to share that on 1 December I’ll be joining Chaos as Chief Financial Officer. Chaos is at a very exciting stage of its growth, and I’m really looking forward to working with Iveta Cabajova and the leadership team alongside our investors to help build on that momentum."
