Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) announced on Monday that Gavin Isaacs, an experienced professional in the gaming industry, will be joining its board in an advisory role, pending regulatory review and approval.
Isaacs brings more than 25 years of expertise across various segments including gaming, iGaming, sports betting, and lotteries. He will be joining GLI alongside representatives from private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
While GLI has labeled Isaacs’ position as advisory, details regarding his start date, salary, or any equity arrangements have not been disclosed.
Isaacs’ background is noteworthy. He has held significant executive roles and participated in mergers and acquisitions exceeding $10 billion in value. His career includes a position on the board at Galaxy Gaming and a brief tenure as the CEO of Entain that lasted five months. In 2022, his contributions to the gaming sector earned him a place in the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame.
Expressing his excitement about the new position, Isaacs remarked, "I am excited to join the board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years."
This announcement follows an investment deal between GLI and CVC Capital Partners, disclosed in June, where CVC’s Strategic Opportunities division invested in GLI and its associated entities to bolster the company's global expansion and long-term strategy.
James Maida, CEO of GLI, emphasized that Isaacs’ extensive industry experience aligns well with GLI’s growth objectives, stating, "I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board… Gavin’s decades of experience, vision and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward."
