Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) announced on Monday that it has appointed Gavin Isaacs, a notable figure in the gaming industry, to its board in an advisory role. This appointment is subject to regulatory review and approval.
Isaacs brings over 25 years of experience in gaming, iGaming, sports betting, and lotteries to GLI. He will join the board alongside representatives from CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
The company has characterized Isaacs’ role as advisory and has not provided information regarding the effective start date, any compensation, or equity associated with his appointment.
Isaacs has a rich history in the industry, having held senior executive and board roles in various companies. He has played a key part in mergers and acquisitions exceeding $10 billion in value. Notably, he served on the board at Galaxy Gaming and briefly as CEO of Entain for five months. In recognition of his contributions to the gaming sector, he was inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame in 2022.
Expressing his excitement about the new position, Isaacs stated, "I am excited to join the board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years."
This announcement comes on the heels of GLI’s investment deal with CVC Capital Partners, disclosed in June, where CVC’s Strategic Opportunities division invested in GLI to aid the company’s global expansion and long-term strategy. Maida noted that Isaacs' extensive experience aligns perfectly with GLI’s growth objectives, saying, "I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board… Gavin’s decades of experience, vision and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward."
