The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has granted five-year extensions of online gambling licenses to eight operators, allowing them to continue offering services in the Netherlands until 2031. Since the opening of the regulated online gambling market in 2021, the KSA has now issued a total of eight follow-up licenses.
These renewed licenses will be valid from October 2026 through September 2031, replacing existing licenses that will expire at the end of September 2026. The operators receiving these renewals include TOTO Online B.V. (TOTO and Winnitt), Holland Casino N.V. (Holland Casino Online), Play North Limited (Kansino), FPO Nederland B.V. (FairPlay Casino), Bingoal Nederland B.V. (Bingoal), Hillside (New Media Malta) Plc (bet365), NSUS Malta Limited (GGPoker), and Betent B.V. (BetCity).
The licensing process for these extensions involved more stringent checks than those applied when the original licenses were issued in 2021. The KSA scrutinized previous violations that had occurred over the last five years, requiring applicants to demonstrate improvements made in addressing these past issues and to outline measures they would implement to prevent future infractions.
The regulator confirmed that all eight applicants met the licensing requirements, although some faced additional compliance expectations. With these newly issued licenses, the operators are set to remain active participants in the Dutch online gambling market for the next five years, reinforcing the involvement of both international and local entities in this evolving sector until 2031.
