The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a warning about several websites falsely claiming to be licensed by the authority. On July 16, the MGA published a notice that listed three active sites involved in this deceptive activity: manekicasino.bet, dragonaracasino.uk.com, and slot-hunter.at.
The authority clarified that it has no affiliation with these websites and that any references to MGA licensing or regulatory approval made by these sites are false. In its advisory, the MGA emphasized the importance for players to verify whether an operator is properly licensed, indicating that any gambling sites lacking the required licenses are operating illegally within Malta.
According to reports, one of the domains mentioned mimics the online brand of Dragonara Casino, a well-known establishment in St. Julian's. The MGA assured the public that it will continue to monitor sites that misuse its name or falsely claim to hold an MGA license. Additionally, it urged players to engage only with licensed gambling operators.
