Esportes da Sorte Group has finalized its acquisition of Apostou.com, which operates BETBR Loterias, a company licensed by the Secretariat of Lotteries and Betting (SPA). This operator holds a substantial presence in Brazil, particularly in the state of Paraná. In addition to Apostou.com, the deal includes the group’s two other brands, B1BET and BRBET. This acquisition enhances Esportes da Sorte’s footprint in Brazil, the world's fifth-largest betting market, and underscores the group's dedication to the regulated gaming sector.
The Brazilian betting market has been growing rapidly, leading to increased mergers and acquisitions within the industry. In early 2026 alone, the country saw nearly BRL6 billion ($1.2 billion) in revenue from regulated activities. This revenue includes a 12% tax on the gross gaming revenue (GGR) generated by operators along with various corporate taxes, motivating larger companies to consider acquiring smaller brands.
Esportes da Sorte is not alone in this competitive landscape. The group also manages Lottu and Onabet. Earlier this year, before obtaining its federal license from the SPA, it secured a controlling stake in ST Soft Desenvolvimento de Programas de Computadores Ltda, which owned another brand named Apostou, accredited by Loterj since 2023.
Esportes Gaming Brasil has had a definitive license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting since 2025 and currently has two of its three brands among Brazil’s top ten betting operators. As of the first quarter of 2026, rankings from Blask show Esportes da Sorte in sixth place, while Onabet is in tenth, with Betano leading the list, followed by bet365.
Prior to receiving its national license, Esportes da Sorte had already acquired ST Soft, a company with a license from Loterj, positioning itself in the market as it awaited federal certification. Previously, companies licensed by Loterj conducted operations nationwide under the premise of centralized servers based in Rio de Janeiro.
The acquisition of Apostou.com is currently undergoing scrutiny by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) under Public Notice No. 464, led by HS Gaming Participações, a subsidiary of Esportes Gaming Brasil.
The Brazilian betting sector has consistently attracted interest from major players, both locally and internationally. For example, Flutter Entertainment recently acquired a controlling stake in Betnacional, which already operated the Betfair brand in Brazil. Esportes da Sorte's acquisition of Apostou.com is part of a broader trend of expansion within the country’s gaming industry.
Another notable move was ANA Gaming’s acquisition of Aposta Tudo, adding to its portfolio of brands, which includes 7K, Cassino, and Vera. This group has been particularly active in Brazil's betting market and has previously taken control of Donald Bet and Ponto Bet.
