Jonas Groes Discusses the Role of Data in Advancing iGaming

Jonas Groes, co-CEO of EveryMatrix, recently engaged with iGB during a media day in Copenhagen, emphasizing the central role of data in the company's operations. Groes, who came on board in early 2026 after a decade at EY, shared insights on how data empowers EveryMatrix to extend its reach beyond merely supplying products to iGaming operators.

In his discussion, Groes noted that EveryMatrix is evolving into more of a consulting entity, enabling clients to unlock value within their target markets. He articulated how data informs the development of more tailored iGaming products, driving operator growth. "From having more of a supplier role, we can lift ourselves in the value chain," Groes stated. He elaborated, stating the company assesses clients' businesses and player behaviors to enhance client understanding of their players.

When asked about data's impact on partnerships in Latin America, Matias Montero, managing director for the region, pointed out that data alone is not transformative; rather, its potential lies in how it is utilized. Groes reinforced this view, asserting that products must be designed to reflect data insights, thereby ensuring relevance in the market.

Groes identified two primary applications of AI for EveryMatrix: refining existing products through better data structuring and enhancing internal processes. During the event, group CTO Pablo Jensen highlighted the company's offering of a comprehensive data platform that integrates both sports and user data, enabling AI applications to operate on client data.

Groes expressed confidence in the effectiveness of EveryMatrix's data strategy, noting, "For me, clear proof it is working is that we can have these conversations… and clients are willing to change some of the ways they operate. Whatever is good for our clients is good for us."

Ivan Rozic, global head of sales, also attended and shared optimism about data's potential, indicating that understanding player patterns is crucial for driving innovation. "With the vastness of data we have, and how much we can actually benefit… there’s a lot of room for progress," Rozic remarked.
