SmartSoft has become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), marking a strategic step towards advancing regulated gambling in Africa.
On Tuesday, the partnership was announced with a statement emphasizing its goal: to foster sustainable, responsible, and commercially viable gambling markets across the continent.
SmartSoft has already established a significant presence in Africa, including co-hosting the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July. Through its affiliation with AiA, the company will engage in events that include regulatory discussions, strategic roundtables, and research initiatives, collaborating with other stakeholders in the industry.
Guram Gotsadze, the CEO of SmartSoft, expressed that the decision to join AiA underscores the company’s heightened focus on Africa and its dedication to nurturing regulated, sustainable gaming markets. "Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," Gotsadze remarked.
Peter Kesitilwe, the CEO of AiA, noted SmartSoft's existing involvement in African markets. He anticipates productive collaboration on various topics such as B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, and sustainable regulation.
The AiA highlighted this development as part of their mission to facilitate constructive dialogue among industry stakeholders as Africa's gambling market evolves. "Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators, and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent," Kesitilwe stated.
Collaboration was also a prominent theme during the inaugural Africa Safer Gambling Week, hosted by the AiA last week. Kesitilwe emphasized the need for ongoing cooperation beyond policy discussions, transforming dialogues into actionable initiatives that focus on educating players, engaging communities, and addressing illegal gambling hazards.
