Oslo Chosen as Host for 2027 Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show

Eventus International has chosen Oslo, Norway, as the venue for the 9th annual Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show (SNGS), scheduled for 21 and 22 October 2027. This marks the conference's first appearance in Norway after previous editions were held in Sweden and Denmark.

Following the successful conclusion of the eighth edition, the decision to host the conference in Oslo aligns with Eventus International’s goal to expand its regional presence. The SNGS has historically been a gathering point for players in the gaming sector, including operators, regulators, technology providers, and industry associations, focusing on the dynamic changes affecting the Nordic gaming landscape.

Norway's distinctive gambling regulations will be a significant topic of discussion, alongside updates from Sweden, Denmark, and other European markets. Attendees will delve into a variety of key issues such as regulatory changes, responsible gambling initiatives, emerging technologies, and innovative business strategies.

A spokesperson for Eventus International remarked, "Over the past eight years, the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show has developed into a platform for industry dialogue and business engagement across the Nordic region. Bringing the ninth edition to Oslo represents a natural progression for the event. Norway plays an important role in the wider Nordic gaming landscape, and we see an opportunity to bring together regional and international stakeholders to exchange perspectives, address industry challenges and explore future developments."

Key issues anticipated for discussion during the 2027 event include gambling regulation and compliance, responsible gambling standards, player protection mechanisms, advancements in artificial intelligence, payment technologies, digital transformation, and the evolution of international market trends.

Oslo's established business infrastructure, along with its logistics and networking prospects, were significant factors in the choice of the city. This will enable interactions that extend beyond the conference's formal agenda.

The move into Norway follows eight successful editions in Sweden and Denmark, reflecting Eventus International's commitment to enhancing the event's Nordic footprint and attracting a wider international audience. The spokesperson stated, "Each edition of SNGS has contributed to the development of a network of industry participants across the region. Our objective for Oslo is to build on that foundation while introducing new perspectives and creating further opportunities for collaboration."

Carl Fredrik Stenstrøm, Chairman of the Norwegian Online Gaming Association (NBO), expressed enthusiasm about the event's timing, stating, "Bringing the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show to Oslo in 2027 could not have come at a better time. With Finland opening its gambling market, Norway is now the last Nordic country holding on to a gambling monopoly. I strongly believe Norway will be the next to embrace a licensing system, and the momentum for change is growing. The Nordic gaming industry is entering an exciting new chapter, and Oslo is the perfect place to discuss its future. I look forward to welcoming the industry to Norway – hopefully as we move closer to ending the Norwegian gambling monopoly."

Mikkel Taanum, Counsel at Two Birds, noted, "After eight editions alternating between Stockholm and Copenhagen, Oslo is in my opinion the natural next step, bringing a fresh Nordic perspective and new connections to an established event. Hosting the ninth edition in Norway will reinforce the show’s ambition to be a truly unique pan-Nordic meeting place for the gaming industry."

Margarita Cruz, Director and Founder of Diamond28 Consulting Limited, added, "Exciting times ahead for the Nordic gaming industry in 2027! Bringing the 9th edition of the Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show to Oslo offers a unique opportunity to examine the region’s evolving gaming landscape from a fresh, balanced and independent perspective. With Finland’s regulatory reforms and significant developments across the Nordic markets, Oslo provides an ideal setting for industry leaders, regulators, and stakeholders to come together and explore how these changes will reshape regulatory frameworks, market competitiveness, innovation, and the wider gaming ecosystem. The Nordics continue to set important benchmarks for Europe, and 2027 promises to be a defining year for the region’s future!"

Hayley Joseph, Business Development Manager at Amusnet Gaming, praised Eventus International, stating, "The Eventus team brings the brains, the buzz and a whole lot of personality! They bring the right people together, turn conversations into connections and make business feel like the place to be. Serious talent. Seriously good vibes!"

The Scandinavian & Nordic Gaming Show 2027 will take place in Oslo on 21 and 22 October 2027, with further details on the venue, program, speakers, sponsorship opportunities, and registration to be announced later.
