SmartSoft has officially joined the African iGaming Alliance (AiA) as a Gold Supplier Member, marking a significant step in its strategy to enhance the development of gambling in Africa.
In a Tuesday announcement, the two entities noted that their collaboration aims to foster sustainable, responsible, and commercially viable regulated gambling markets throughout the continent.
SmartSoft has built a solid and expanding presence in Africa, having co-hosted the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July, further emphasizing its commitment to the region.
As part of its membership in the AiA, SmartSoft will engage in various events, including discussions on regulatory issues, strategic roundtables, and research projects, collaborating with other operators and suppliers in the African gaming market.
Guram Gotsadze, CEO of SmartSoft, expressed that the decision to join AiA showcases the company’s increasing focus on African markets and its dedication to fostering regulated and sustainable gaming environments. "Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," he stated.
Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of AiA, highlighted that SmartSoft's existing presence in African markets will facilitate collaboration on various industry matters, including B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, and sustainable regulation.
This partnership is one of the AiA's latest efforts to encourage constructive dialogue among industry stakeholders as the African gambling market evolves. Kesitilwe emphasized the goal of creating a platform for regulators, operators, and suppliers to discuss the opportunities and challenges in the sector.
The theme of collaboration was also central to the recent inaugural Africa Safer Gambling Week, hosted by the AiA. In a statement, Kesitilwe noted that a major focus of the event was to promote ongoing collaboration and to translate discussions on safer gambling into actionable measures. He remarked, "The initiative demonstrates that cooperation does not have to remain at the level of conference and policy discussion. It has to translate into practical action, educating players, engaging communities, protecting young people and highlighting the dangers of illegal and unlicensed gambling."
