On September 30, during the Balkan Gaming Federation Summit, Dragan Skrbić was appointed as the inaugural president of the federation. Alongside him, Filip Jelavić and Sorin Georgescu will serve as vice presidents.
The newly appointed leaders will spearhead the first campaigns organized by the BGF aimed at safeguarding the legal gambling industry within the Balkans. This effort includes collaboration with EUROMAT, which participated in a significant event in Romania.
Since the establishment of the federation in Serbia in March, BGF has focused on forging relationships with EUROMAT and expressed through a press release its objective to become a regional representative in this EU trade organization.
Seven business organizations from the Balkans—encompassing Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia—are uniting under the BGF. The legal gambling industry in this area faces growing scrutiny, prompting BGF to provide a collaborative platform for operators and suppliers in the region.
The new leadership will unveil their plans for the year 2027 at the New Horizons Gaming Industry Gala Dinner, scheduled for November 24 in Sofia. This event will mark the first appearance of the new leadership team before member associations of the federation.
BGF also intends to organize a more inclusive B2B conference in the Balkans, featuring an exhibition designed to strengthen relationships among its members. Planned events are set to rotate among Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia.
