Tristan Durrell has officially joined Fairplay as a brand ambassador for the upcoming 2026/27 Jumps season. Last season, he achieved a personal milestone by riding a total of 48 winners, including his first Grade 1 victory, which led him to be named Champion Conditional rider. As a member of the successful Dan Skelton team, Durrell is poised for continued success.
Throughout the season, Durrell will share insights about his rides and notable horses within the Skelton stable through written blogs and video updates. In his own words, Durrell expressed enthusiasm about joining Fairplay, stating, "It’s great to be part of the Fairplay team. We’ve been very busy with runners and have plenty of horses in the yard, so it’s an exciting season ahead. I’ve been coming into Dan’s [Skelton] for a long time now, so working around him and Harry [Skelton] does rub off on you. Last season was a big breakthrough for me. I wanted to lose my claim and had already achieved that by Christmas. Then it was about winning Champion Conditional, so now it’s about looking ahead again. Dan has been vocal about wanting to reach 244 winners for the season and beat Martin Pipe’s record. He wants to beat every single record there is, so I, along with the whole yard, will help him achieve that. For the yard as a whole, we’re known for winning good amounts of prize money, but the Cheltenham Festival is the big one. Willie Mullins comes over and still wins a lot more than any British yard. We’re definitely getting to the point where we’re bringing better teams and becoming much more competitive. I think a big thing for the yard is to secure a greater number of Festival winners. Every single year, Dan is getting closer to Willie with the quality of horses."
Bill Gowing, Founder and Managing Director of Fairplay, spoke about the significance of this partnership, stating, "We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Tristan to the Fairplay team. To have last season’s Champion Conditional Jockey representing our brand is a fantastic signing for us and one we’re incredibly excited about. As we continue to grow our presence within British racing, partnering with talented individuals like Tristan is a really important part of that journey. We’re looking forward to supporting him throughout the season and hopefully celebrating plenty of winners together."
With this addition, Fairplay’s roster of ambassadors expands, now including Warren Greatrex and Mickey Bowen alongside Durrell. Fairplay initially launched as a peer-to-peer betting platform in 2023, followed by the introduction of its sportsbook, Fairplay Bet, after obtaining a sportsbook license. This year marks Fairplay's first year with an on-course presence, having secured a pitch at Glorious Goodwood, as well as upcoming pitches at Cheltenham from November 13-15 and Newbury on November 27-28, with additional dates scheduled for December 10 and 29.
