Gamecheck has identified 5,000 fraudulent online casinos operating in Brazil during the first half of 2026, leading to the launch of a comprehensive investigation aimed at revealing more about these scams. Each week, beginning this Monday, Gamecheck will publicize 50 of these deceptive domains, providing critical information to help users recognize fraudulent operators.
The organization has reported a staggering find of over 8,000 fake gambling products globally, with 6,800 of these located in Brazil, making the country the leading market for counterfeit online gambling. In just one month, Gamecheck compiled a list of 3,800 bogus gambling websites.
James Elliott, the Founder of Gamecheck, emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues, stating, "Brazil has become one of the fastest-growing online casino gaming markets in the world, and rogue operators have moved just as quickly to take advantage of it. Publishing our findings weekly means Brazilian players get a steady, checkable record they can act on as it happens, not a headline that vanishes from view."
Fred Azevedo, Gamecheck’s Brand Ambassador for LATAM, highlighted the importance of authenticity in player protection: "The conversation around player protection has to begin with authenticity. Before discussing RTP, volatility, or responsible gambling, players deserve to know that the game they are playing is real. If the software cannot be trusted, nothing else about the experience can be trusted either."
The regulated online gambling market in Brazil was established in 2025, marking the country as one of the fastest-growing gambling jurisdictions worldwide. Data from the Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Bets indicates that licensed operators generated nearly $7 billion in revenue in 2025. Furthermore, forecasts from H2 Gambling Capital predict that the market could reach $10 billion by 2029.
In just a year following regulation, Brazil has emerged as the fifth largest betting market globally, with regulated operators generating around $290 million in tax revenues in January 2026, according to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service. Gamecheck attributes the rapid expansion of this gaming market, alongside the population's increasing reliance on mobile devices and strong online gambling engagement, to the proliferation of fraudulent activities.
