SmartSoft has recently become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), emphasizing its commitment to the growth of the gambling sector in Africa.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the two parties outlined that this partnership is centered around promoting sustainable, responsible, and commercially viable regulated gambling markets throughout the continent.
SmartSoft already has a well-established and expanding presence in Africa, a region it highlighted during its co-hosting of the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July. Through its Alliances membership, SmartSoft aims to engage in regulatory discussions, strategic roundtables, and research initiatives alongside various operators and suppliers.
Guram Gotsadze, CEO of SmartSoft, expressed that the decision to join AiA demonstrates the company's increasing focus on Africa and its dedication to fostering regulated and sustainable gaming markets. “Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent,” Gotsadze stated.
Peter Kesitilwe, the CEO of AiA, acknowledged SmartSoft's strong presence in African markets and noted the anticipation of collaborative efforts on topics such as B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, and sustainable regulation.
The AiA characterized this membership as part of its ongoing mission to encourage industry stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogues as the gambling market in Africa evolves. “Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators, and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent,” said Kesitilwe.
Collaboration centered around safe gambling was also a major theme in the recent Africa Safer Gambling Week organized by AiA. Kesitilwe emphasized that fostering ongoing collaboration should extend beyond discussions at conferences and policy meetings, transforming into practical actions that educate players, engage communities, protect young individuals, and address the risks associated with illegal and unlicensed gambling.
