SmartSoft has become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), signaling a strategic partnership aimed at bolstering the development of the gambling sector in Africa. The announcement made on Tuesday emphasized that this collaboration will center on fostering sustainable, responsible, and commercially viable regulated gambling markets throughout the continent.
With a firmly established presence in Africa, SmartSoft has been actively involved in the region, including its co-hosting of the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July. By joining the AiA, SmartSoft will engage in various activities, such as regulatory discussions, strategic roundtables, and research initiatives, collaborating with other industry operators and suppliers.
Guram Gotsadze, CEO of SmartSoft, stated that the decision to join the AiA underscores the company's commitment to Africa and its mission to support the sustainable development of regulated gaming markets. "Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," Gotsadze remarked.
Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of the AiA, noted that SmartSoft already has significant engagement in African markets, expressing anticipation for collaborative efforts on topics such as B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, channelization, and sustainable regulation.
The AiA highlighted this partnership as part of its goal to facilitate constructive dialogue among industry stakeholders as Africa's gambling landscape evolves. "Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators, and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent," Kesitilwe commented.
At last week's inaugural Africa Safer Gambling Week, collaboration emerged as a crucial theme. Kesitilwe shared that an essential focus was to foster ongoing partnerships, translating discussions on safer gambling into actionable steps. "The initiative demonstrates that cooperation does not have to remain at the level of conference and policy discussion. It has to translate into practical action, educating players, engaging communities, protecting young people, and highlighting the dangers of illegal and unlicensed gambling," he stated.
