The inaugural LiGA Summit 2026 is set to commence in just two weeks, bringing together major players in the industry, including operators, legal experts, affiliates, and service providers. Scheduled for September 17-18, 2026, at the El Pardo Lima – A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Lima, Peru, the event will focus on the newly regulated iGaming market in Peru and the broader Latin American sector. Topics will include licensing, market entry strategies, customer acquisition, affiliate relationships, and creating a sustainable local market.
A highlight of the summit features the Prediction Markets Summit Americas 2026 on September 18, which introduces a dedicated half-day stream. This session will delve into the mechanics and business potential of prediction markets, addressing the infrastructure required for forecasting products, the growth of event-based betting, and the perspectives of regulators, operators, and suppliers in this evolving segment.
Key industry representatives, such as Betnix, La Tinka S.A., and Coolbet, will speak at the summit. Insights into priorities and challenges faced in their operations were shared by three operators.
Gabriel Bazza, Senior Affiliate Manager at Betnix, emphasized that the main opportunity lies in promoting professionalism and transparency in the affiliate sector as Peru's market expands. He noted that adapting to regulatory changes is vital while maintaining high-quality traffic and performance. Gabriel explained, "Players are becoming more experienced, so we need to be more targeted and localised. It’s no longer just about bringing volume, but bringing the right players and building better retention." He further stated that trust is crucial for long-term partnerships, highlighting the importance of effective communication, transparency, and reliable payments.
Milagros Gabriela Seijas Peralta, Head of Legal and Compliance at La Tinka S.A., identified essential compliance elements for the developing market. She stated, "The main priorities should focus on consolidating a culture of compliance that goes beyond simply obtaining licences, while strengthening anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing systems, player protection, technological integrity and regulatory compliance." Milagros emphasized the need for a forward-thinking approach to manage emerging risks and outlined that responsible gaming should be woven into product and technology advancements, reinforcing the idea that compliance and innovation should proceed hand-in-hand.
Ernesto Cabrera, Social Media Manager at Coolbet, spoke on the significant impact of social media in building connections with players across Latin America. He noted, "Social media has ceased to be merely a communication channel and has become one of the main spaces for conversation between operators and players." He argued that a competitive edge now comes from understanding the cultural nuances that resonate with players and creating engaging content rather than simply pushing promotions. Ernesto highlighted the importance of creating conversations that are inclusive and participatory in nature as opposed to interruptive.
Finally, he addressed the need for creativity alongside responsible gaming practices, stating that these concepts should complement rather than conflict with one another. Ernesto concluded that compliance should be integrated from the outset of creative processes to foster trust and sustainability in brand communications.
