Sergey Kastukevich, the Chief Technology Officer at SOFTSWISS, recently shared his insights on the evolving landscape of the iGaming industry and the significance of upcoming events like the Tech Race Summit 2026. In an interview with Margaret Dunn, the portfolio director at World Gaming, Kastukevich addressed the unique role of the Tech Race Summit, set to take place on September 10 in Warsaw.
The summit aims to address a critical gap within the industry, according to Kastukevich. While the iGaming sector often emphasizes business discussions, there is a notable lack of opportunities for in-depth dialogue on technology and engineering. Kastukevich emphasized that Tech Race Summit is designed as a knowledge-sharing platform, distinctively focused on fostering discussions among senior technologists rather than promoting SOFTSWISS itself. He highlighted that the event seeks to guide industry investments and focus for the next six to twelve months.
Dunn acknowledged a surge in demand for such focused discussions at ICE last year, particularly during the Innovator Challenge which featured keynotes from major tech players like Microsoft and AWS. In response, this year's initiative includes the introduction of Hall 7 at ICE, intended to provide a more robust venue for the latest iGaming innovations.
Both Tech Race in Warsaw and Hall 7 at ICE Barcelona this coming January are poised to serve as integral parts of an ongoing conversation about the industry's future. Kastukevich noted the value of gathering the right people in one room, suggesting that collective discussions can foster more significant outcomes than scattered networking efforts.
As part of their discussion, Dunn and Kastukevich also reflected on the role of artificial intelligence in the industry, questioning whether it is merely a buzzword or holds genuine potential for advancement.
