At an event in New York on Thursday, Jason Robins announced that DraftKings has secured a place among the top three in the competitive prediction market landscape. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as DraftKings recently launched a market-making exchange just months ago, indicating a promising upward trajectory in performance.
Robins expressed confidence in DraftKings' positioning, attributing its success to a strong Research & Development team. Additionally, the company's ability to cross-sell its prediction services alongside online sports betting, iCasino, and lottery operations gives it a significant edge over newer prediction-market entrants.
For the week ending October 18, DraftKings' exchange, known as DKeX, exceeded $3 billion in notional volume, placing it third among operators, according to Aldrin Research. While it trails Polymarket’s offshore platform, DraftKings edged ahead of Novig, which came in fourth.
Remarkably, during Week 6 of the NFL season last Sunday, DKeX achieved a record notional volume of $316 million, marking its highest performance to date. Robins celebrated this milestone during a conversation with CNBC's Contessa Brewer, stating, "We only launched a few months ago and we’re already the clear No. 3."
