Betsson announced a historic quarterly revenue of €310.2 million for the second quarter of 2026, marking the highest figure ever recorded by the company in a single quarter. This figure represents a 2% increase from the previous year, largely attributed to impressive customer engagement during the FIFA World Cup.
Pontus Lindwall, the CEO of Betsson, stated, "Group revenue amounted to €310 million, the highest revenue level ever for Betsson in a single quarter. Our strategy is based on a balanced mix of B2C and B2B initiatives, and we are working hard to return to growth in B2B with both existing and new customers. The FIFA World Cup has provided a solid start to the third quarter."
Despite this revenue boost, overall profitability has taken a hit, with a 39% decline in operating profits, which fell to €42.2 million. Net profit also saw a drop of 38%, landing at €30.4 million. The decrease in profitability is linked to lower B2B revenue and increased gambling taxes in regulated markets.
Significantly, Latin America has emerged as Betsson's largest market, with revenue surging by 32.3%, amounting to €112.1 million. Countries such as Argentina, Peru, and Colombia have notably contributed to this growth. Western Europe also performed well, with a record revenue of €64.2 million, driven largely by strong results from Italy.
Currently, Betsson boasts 1.83 million active customers, reflecting a nearly 30% increase from the same time last year. Additionally, operational cash flow has seen significant growth, rising by 47% to reach €60.4 million.
Looking ahead, Betsson is optimistic about its prospects, noting that the World Cup has spurred increased betting activity in July, with average daily revenue for the opening weeks of Q3 up by 13.7% compared to the previous year.
