PMU’s Restructuring Plan Cuts 47 Regional Jobs

Unions at PMU have given their approval for a restructuring plan designed to eliminate 47 positions within the company's regional sales operations in France, pending the green light from French labor authorities.
This initiative is set to lead to a total of 128 layoffs while simultaneously creating 81 new roles, resulting in a net loss of 47 positions overall.
Of the four unions participating in the negotiations, three have signed onto the collective agreement. The CFDT union has expressed its opposition, criticizing the plan’s emphasis on regional teams over the central management in Paris.
Developed by CEO Cyrille Giraudat, the Employment Protection Program is part of a broader initiative to reorganize PMU's sales department.
The restructuring will impact approximately 350 employees in regional sales and outreach divisions, but currently, there are no plans for layoffs among the staff based at the Paris office.
As the largest racing network in Europe, PMU faces challenges as its customer base ages and previous efforts to engage younger customers have not been successful. According to CFDT, regional employees play a crucial role in the existing retail network, helping to generate interest in racing among younger audiences.
