Leadership changes are reshaping the gaming industry as companies streamline their executive teams. This week’s movements include a significant promotion at Boyd Gaming, a new CFO at Seneca Resorts & Casinos, and other notable appointments across various firms.

At Boyd Gaming, Rick Goldstein has been elevated to senior vice president of operations, a role that expands his responsibilities to oversee two additional properties while retaining his position as general manager at Suncoast Hotel & Casino. Goldstein will now manage operations at Aliante and Cannery, alongside his ongoing leadership at Suncoast. Having joined the company in 2016 as the assistant general manager of Kansas Star Casino, he rose through several leadership roles, becoming vice president and general manager at Suncoast in 2023 before this latest promotion.

Seneca Resorts & Casinos has appointed Wade Howk as CFO. Howk brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Hard Rock International, PENN Entertainment, and Inspire Entertainment Resort. Most recently, he was COO at Inspire in South Korea, where he played a key role in its development. At Seneca, Howk will handle financial and operational accounting, budgeting, income auditing, financial analysis, and more. Kevin Nephew, the President and CEO of Seneca, expressed confidence in Howk’s leadership and strategic insight amid the evolving gaming market.

Galaxy Gaming has added John Boushy to its board of directors, effective immediately. Boushy takes over from Meredith Brill, who served for four years. With over 45 years in the gaming and hospitality sectors, his extensive background includes roles as CEO and president of Ameristar Casinos and various senior leadership roles at Harrah’s Entertainment. As a board member, he will leverage his expertise in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance to support Galaxy's growth strategy.

In another development, Bluberi has appointed David Bollesen as senior vice president of U.S. studios. Bollesen, who has a strong background in product development and leadership, will oversee teams in Reno, Austin, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. His previous experience includes roles at Ainsworth Game Technology and IGT. This appointment comes as Bluberi expands its North American game development footprint, having recently added three new studios, including its first iGaming studio. Bollesen expressed enthusiasm about building on the company’s momentum and delivering engaging content for players.

These personnel changes highlight the dynamic nature of leadership within the gaming industry as firms adapt to market demands and growth opportunities.
