Caesars and the World Series of Poker (WSoP) are launching a joint player pool that spans Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada. This initiative represents a significant expansion for online poker in these states.

The WSoP Online platform, previously known as WSoP.com, has been updated to support four-table capabilities on mobile devices, multi-flight re-entry tournaments, and several other features, as detailed in a press release.

Players from New Jersey and Nevada will need to create new accounts on the upgraded platform. Upon setting up a new username, players will have their existing balances, reward points, and tournament tickets transferred to the new WSoP Online account. This transition is expected to occur within 72 hours following the launch on May 28. Additionally, players from New Jersey and Nevada will be required to re-install the WSoP Online app.

The platform will support Texas Hold’em and Omaha games in the pooled play format. Danielle Barille, Vice President of Online Poker at Caesars Digital, stated, "This platform upgrade is long overdue and is a big win for our players. We’re thrilled to bring Michigan players into the fold with Nevada and New Jersey, resulting in a better experience, more value, and the biggest prize pools of the year."

In Michigan, online poker is offered by Caesars, BetMGM, and PokerStars, as approved by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). Notably, PokerStars has also been authorized for multi-state play. Caesars submitted its application to the MGCB in April, receiving approval to provide Texas Hold’em and Omaha internet poker games in the new format. All new games must receive approval from the MGCB.

WSoP Online officially launched just before the registration for the World Series of Poker opened at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Between June 1 and July 21, the platform is set to host 30 online bracelet events, with a gold bracelet available to win every Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday during that period.

The new platform will also include satellite events for players to qualify for live events. Starting June 18 and June 29, WSoP Online will feature five high-roller hybrid events, culminating in live play in Las Vegas for the final six players, beginning July 14.

The live WSoP Main Event is scheduled to start on July 3, with the Final Table occurring on July 16-17 at the Horseshoe. Last year, Daniel Weinman became the first American to win this event, taking home $2.1 million (approximately £1.6 million/€1.9 million).
