The EGR Italy Awards took place at the Rome Cavalieri hotel, drawing attention as a major event in Italy's regulated online gambling sector. This year’s ceremony recognized various operators, providers, and affiliates for their exceptional contributions over the past year, bringing together the industry's key players.
Notably, the 2026 event introduced several new categories, such as "Affiliate Network of the Year," "Outstanding Contribution to the Italian Market," and the "Operator Performance Award." In addition to these, familiar categories like "Affiliate of the Year," "Casino Innovation," and "Best Customer Service" were also presented.
Casino2k, an Italian affiliate portal that has been part of the regulated gambling market for nearly 20 years, was nominated in two categories: "Casino Affiliate" and "Affiliate of the Year." This was a significant moment for Casino2k, particularly following their win in the "Casino Affiliate" category at last year’s awards.
The platform has not only focused on editorial content but has also fostered a community for Italian gamblers. Through its forum, Casino2k has reportedly assisted users in recovering over €1.9 million in winnings.
The three co-founders, Matteo Giannone, Salvatore Martorana, and Stefano Franceschetti, attended the ceremony. It served as a valuable occasion for networking with other industry professionals and celebrating the progress of the Italian gambling market.
Matteo Giannone expressed his thoughts on the experience, saying, "Taking part in an event like the EGR Italy Awards is always a special experience. Being surrounded by so many fellow professionals who share our passion for this industry reminds us how much the Italian market has developed over the years. We are delighted that Casino2k has once again been shortlisted in two categories and, although we didn’t win this time, we are particularly grateful to everyone who contributes to our work and the growth of our community."
While Casino2k did not secure a win this year, the company appreciated the recognition of its double nomination and extended congratulations to Hub Affiliations, which took home both awards in the categories.
