The 2022 report from Spectrum Gaming Group has been unveiled as part of the ongoing litigation involving Evolution and Black Cube, an intelligence agency hired by Playtech. This report is central to the escalating conflict between these prominent game suppliers.
Black Cube's investigation into alleged misconduct by Evolution, commissioned by Playtech in 2020, produced controversial findings which Evolution has forcefully disputed. In response, Evolution commissioned Spectrum Gaming Group to assess its own actions and the Black Cube report's reliability. Despite Evolution's claims that the Spectrum report exonerated it, the document has been under wraps for some time due to confidentiality issues.
On Wednesday, Playtech issued a statement citing compliance failures at Evolution, pointing to elements contained within the Spectrum report. According to Spectrum, there were "concerns around the availability of Evolution’s games in certain prohibited markets, the regulatory implications of its practices, and the lack of proactive monitoring of its customers."
Nonetheless, the report concluded that Spectrum did not find evidence of any illegal activities by Evolution.
