Analysis of Football-Themed Casino Games during 2026 FIFA World Cup

During the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is set to take place across three countries with 48 teams participating, casino operators are vying for the attention of players by transforming this global sporting event into appealing lobby content. To gauge which football-themed games are making an impact, Blask collaborated with BGaming to analyze the visibility of these games in casino lobbies worldwide and at the country level. This analysis included not only prominent providers but also various formats and markets that contribute to their reach.

Blask's findings reveal that Pragmatic Play's game, Big Bass Football Bonanza, is currently featured in 695 casino brands and 626 lobbies, placing it significantly ahead—almost 50%—of the next closest game. BGaming has successfully placed two titles in the top 10: Penalty Duel with Júlio César and Lucky Pack 2026 Cup, which is more than any other provider has achieved.

Interestingly, the top 10 football-themed games encompass five different formats: five slots, three instant-win games, one crash game, and one live dealer format. This diversity illustrates that operators have broadened their World Cup-themed offerings beyond the traditional slot machines.

Julia Alekseeva, Chief Product Officer at BGaming, noted the success of Penalty Duel with Júlio César, highlighting its commercial impact from culturally relevant football partnerships. Following its exclusive launch at Betano, the game quickly climbed to the platform's top five main-lobby titles and made a remarkable jump from 135th to 7th place in the Crash category, where it remains among the top 10 games.
