Esportes da Sorte Expands with Apostou.com Acquisition

Esportes da Sorte Group has officially acquired Apostou.com, which is known for operating BETBR Loterias. This company is licensed by the Secretariat of Lotteries and Betting (SPA) and has a strong presence in Brazil, particularly in Paraná. The acquisition also encompasses two additional brands owned by Apostou.com, B1BET and BRBET. This strategic move enhances Esportes da Sorte's footprint in one of the largest betting markets globally while underscoring the group’s commitment to navigating a regulated landscape.

The Brazilian betting market has experienced notable growth, which made mergers and acquisitions a significant focus within the industry. In just the first five months of 2026, Brazil saw revenues close to BRL6 billion (approximately $1.2 billion) from regulated betting operations. This impressive figure results from a 12% tax on the gross gaming revenue (GGR) of betting operators, including corporate taxes such as IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, and Cofins. This financial environment has been pivotal in attracting larger operators seeking to acquire smaller brands.

Esportes da Sorte is joined by other brands in its portfolio, such as Lottu and Onabet. Earlier in 2024, the company acquired a controlling stake in ST Soft Desenvolvimento de Programas de Computadores Ltda., which previously owned a brand named Apostou that had been accredited by Loterj since 2023.

With a solid presence, Esportes Gaming Brasil has held a definitive license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting since 2025, and two of its three brands rank among Brazil's top 10 betting operators. According to Blask’s rankings from the first quarter of 2026, Esportes da Sorte is in sixth place, with Onabet following at tenth. Betano currently leads the rankings, followed by bet365.

The group had secured a position in the national market by acquiring ST Soft before receiving its national license. At that time, companies with Loterj licenses operated based on the understanding that Loterj's servers were centralized in Rio de Janeiro.

The acquisition of Apostou.com is currently under review by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) as outlined in Public Notice No. 464. This acquisition is being executed by HS Gaming Participações, which is a subsidiary of Esportes Gaming Brasil.

The Brazilian betting industry has attracted significant interest from both domestic and global companies. For instance, Flutter Entertainment acquired a controlling stake in Betnacional, rated seventh by Blask, which had already been operating the Betfair brand locally. Esportes da Sorte’s recent acquisition aligns with this trend aiming at expanding its operational scope in Brazil.

Additionally, ANA Gaming, managing the 7K, Cassino, and Vera brands, has made headlines with its acquisition of Aposta Tudo. The group is recognized as one of the most active players in Brazil, previously taking control of Donald Bet and Ponto Bet before this latest acquisition.
