ICE 2027 Introduces Dedicated Indie Game Zone for Emerging Studios

World Gaming (WG), the organizer of ICE Barcelona, has announced the launch of a dedicated Indie Game Zone for the upcoming 2027 edition of the event. This new space, located within the Technology and Innovation Hall, aims to highlight independent game studios and provide emerging developers with a unique opportunity to showcase their original casino and iGaming content to global operators and industry leaders.

The Indie Game Zone targets studios that have been in operation for a decade or less and have yet to match the visibility of more established suppliers. WG is committed to offering these smaller creators a platform to present their innovative game concepts and new intellectual properties.

Interested studios can lease modular “pods” at a starting price of €12,500. Each pod comes equipped with a branded display cabinet, a TV screen, logo placement, stools, a 500K electrical socket, and will include a profile listing on the ICE website. Exhibitors will also gain valuable exposure through guided tours and ICE's marketing efforts, including a feature in the Indie Games Showcase campaign and placements in the Slots News newsletter, which includes three promoted games.

Alex Pratt, Group Managing Director at WG, emphasized that the Indie Game Zone is about providing emerging studios with essential visibility at ICE. "The Indie Game Zone is about giving genuinely exciting new studios a real platform at ICE, the kind of visibility that used to take years to earn. We built this because the industry’s next big thing often comes from teams nobody's heard of yet, and ICE should be the place where operators and decision-makers find them first," Pratt remarked.

Eligible applicants for the Indie Game Zone must be new studios that have not been exhibiting at ICE or iGB Live, nor can they be subsidiaries of larger casino game providers. They need to have games or concepts ready for presentation.

The Zone is envisioned as a proving ground for the developers who will be influential in five years. Attendees can expect to find it in the newly established Hall 7, dedicated to showcasing innovations in gaming technology and fresh ideas. This hall is described as a reflection of evolution, aiming to strengthen the platform for technologies related to enterprise, AI, payments, infrastructure, fintech, and new iGaming solutions. The Indie Game Zone will allow developers to demonstrate prototypes and live game builds to operator delegates.
