SmartSoft has officially become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), marking a strategic partnership aimed at fostering the growth of regulated gambling across Africa.
In an announcement made on Tuesday, both parties expressed that this partnership is designed to enhance the development of sustainable, responsible, and commercially viable gambling markets across the continent.
Having already established a significant presence in Africa, SmartSoft co-hosted the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July, further enhancing its footprint in the region.
As a member of the AiA, SmartSoft plans to engage in various events including regulatory discussions, strategic roundtables, and research initiatives, collaborating with other operators and suppliers in the industry.
Guram Gotsadze, CEO of SmartSoft, noted that the decision to join AiA underscores the company’s intensified focus on Africa and its dedication to promoting regulated and sustainable gaming markets there.
"Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," Gotsadze explained.
Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of AiA, emphasized the significance of SmartSoft’s experience in the African markets and expressed anticipation in collaborating with them on topics such as B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, channelisation, and sustainable regulation.
This partnership illustrates AiA's mission to facilitate constructive dialogue among stakeholders as Africa's gambling market evolves.
Kesitilwe remarked, "Our aim is to create an environment where regulators, operators, and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent.”
He also highlighted that collaboration was a central theme during the inaugural Africa Safer Gambling Week, organized by AiA last week, where fostering ongoing partnerships was emphasized.
“The initiative demonstrates that cooperation does not have to remain at the level of conference and policy discussions. It must translate into practical action,” Kesitilwe added, stressing the importance of educating players, engaging communities, protecting young people, and addressing the risks of illegal and unlicensed gambling.
