The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has granted renewed five-year licenses to eight online gambling operators, allowing them to offer services in the Netherlands through 2031. Since the regulated online gambling market was established in the country in 2021, the KSA has issued a total of eight follow-up licenses.
These licenses will be valid from October 2026 until September 2031, coinciding with the expiration of the existing licenses at the end of September 2026. The operators receiving the renewed licenses include TOTO Online B.V. with TOTO and Winnitt, Holland Casino N.V. with Holland Casino Online, Play North Limited with Kansino, FPO Nederland B.V. with FairPlay Casino, Bingoal Nederland B.V. with Bingoal, Hillside (New Media Malta) Plc with bet365, NSUS Malta Limited with GGPoker, and Betent B.V. with BetCity.
The renewal process included heightened scrutiny compared to the initial licensing in 2021. The KSA zeroed in on any violations that occurred over the last five years, requiring applicants to detail how they addressed past issues and what measures would be implemented to prevent future infractions. All eight applicants successfully met the standards set forth by the KSA, though some faced additional compliance requirements.
This latest round of approvals underscores the involvement of key international and local operators in the Netherlands’ online gambling sector until 2031.
