In the second quarter of 2026, bets capped at BRL50 ($10) constituted roughly 74% of all betting transactions across platforms in Brazil, revealing a significant trend towards low-value wagers. While these lesser bets dominated transaction numbers, they only represented about 23% of the total financial value, highlighting the influence of smaller stakes on the betting market's dynamics.
This data originates from Paag, a technology firm focused on data intelligence within regulated markets. The report analyzed transactions from the company’s clientele between April and June 2026, offering a detailed view of player behavior and market trends in Brazil.
Specifically, bets under R$20 ($4) accounted for approximately 45% of total transactions, but made up only 8% of the overall financial value. Conversely, the segment of bets ranging from R$20 to R$50 ($4 to $10) comprised nearly 29% of transactions while contributing 15% to the total value, illustrating a pattern where frequent activity is linked to smaller, regular deposits.
On the other hand, wagers exceeding R$50 ($10) accounted for about 77% of the total financial value during this period, with bets between R$50 and R$1,000 ($10 and $200) making up 57% of this amount. Although stakes over R$1,000 ($200) represented less than 1% of transactions, they contributed approximately 20% of the total funds flowing through these platforms.
João Fraga, CEO of Paag, remarked, “Analysing this data is crucial for understanding not only the sector’s trajectory but also where improvements can be made – regarding both actual operations and bettor safety and protection. Today, the data establishes market predictability from an operational standpoint, revealing clear patterns dominated by micro-transactions.”
Activity levels among players peak between the 8th and 20th of each month, especially high from the 16th to the 22nd. The 20th noted the highest participation in both transaction volume and financial value, while the end of the month typically sees a decline in activity.
The report also indicates that evening hours attract the majority of bets, with 39% of transactions occurring between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Notably, individuals aged 25 to 49 represent around 80% of the total financial volume in betting activities. São Paulo stands out as the primary market, leading both in terms of transaction volume and financial value. The South and Centre-West regions exhibit the highest average transaction values, while the North and Northeast regions are vital for expanding the user base.
