During the second quarter of 2026, bets of up to BRL50 ($10) represented about 74% of all transactions on Brazilian betting platforms, according to a report by Paag, a technology firm that focuses on data intelligence for the regulated market. While these smaller wagers dominated in quantity, they only accounted for around 23% of the total monetary value bet, underscoring a market heavily influenced by low-value betting.
This analysis, which examined transactions from April to June 2026, reveals significant trends in player behavior and the dynamics of the Brazilian market. Transactions involving bets up to R$20 ($4) comprised roughly 45% of the overall volume, contributing a mere 8% of the financial value. Meanwhile, wagers ranging from R$20 to R$50 ($4 to $10) made up about 29% of transactions but contributed 15% to the total value. Such data indicates that regular low-value deposits are common among users engaged in frequent betting.
In contrast, wagers exceeding R$50 ($10) accounted for 77% of the total value managed in this period. Notably, bets between R$50 and R$1,000 ($10 and $200) represented 57% of the financial activity, while larger bets over R$1,000 ($200) contributed nearly 20% of the total funds, despite making up less than 1% of all transactions.
João Fraga, CEO of Paag, emphasizes the importance of this data, stating, "Analysing this data is crucial for understanding not only the sector's trajectory but also where improvements can be made – regarding both actual operations and bettor safety and protection. Today, the data establishes market predictability from an operational standpoint, revealing clear patterns dominated by micro-transactions."
The report indicates that player engagement peaks between the 8th and the 20th of each month, achieving the highest activity levels between the 16th and the 22nd. The highest volume and value of transactions were recorded on the 20th, with participation gradually declining towards the month’s end.
Evening hours, specifically between 6:00pm and 11:00pm, accounted for 39% of all bets. Approximately 80% of the total financial volume is attributed to users aged 25 to 49. São Paulo stands out as the principal market, leading both in transaction volume and financial value. The South and Centre-West regions report the highest average transaction values, while the North and Northeast regions continue to see user base growth.
