BetMakers Reports 16.3% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY2027

BetMakers has reported robust financial growth for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, achieving a 16.3% increase in revenue, totaling approximately AU$24.7 million (£13 million). Adjusted EBITDA rose dramatically by 176.1% year-over-year, reaching AU$5.9 million (£3.1 million). This growth is underpinned by digital advancements and enhanced gross margins as the company gears up for its potential acquisition by Australian gambling operator Tabcorp.

In the previous quarter, Q3 2026, BetMakers demonstrated strong performance through its Apollo and Global Tote platforms. Apollo set new records in activity levels, which continued through the post-quarter period with key Australian horse racing events, specifically the Caulfield Cup and The Everest, solidifying the momentum.

The company’s gross margin climbed to 69.1%, an improvement from 63.9% the previous year, bringing it closer to the long-term aspiration of at least 70%. Net cash reserves also saw an increase, standing at AU$2.8 million compared to AU$1.2 million in the same quarter last year.

CEO Jake Henson commented on the results, stating, "Reaching $24.7 million in quarterly revenue while generating $2.8 million in operating cash flow and $5.9 million in Adjusted EBITDA reflects the strong commercial adoption across our product suite and continued operational discipline from our global team. We have built an agile, technology-driven business model that yields operating leverage as we scale and continue to observe a strong pipeline of new opportunities to support that scale."

Tabcorp's proposed acquisition values BetMakers at AU$283 million and has led to an uptick in BetMakers’ share price over the last six months, with shares trading consistently around AU$0.24. The acquisition details were released in August, estimating the cost at AU$283 million (£148 million), with the projected enterprise value at AU$267 million (£140 million). Both companies have settled on a price of AU$0.24 per share for all shares issued by BetMakers. The acquisition process is expected to unfold in the third quarter of FY2027, contingent on receiving the necessary approvals and completion measures.

In September, BetMakers also reported a substantial year-on-year EBITDA growth of 205% for FY2026, along with its complete financial year results.
