Betsson has announced an impressive financial milestone, reporting a record quarterly revenue of €310.2 million for the second quarter of 2026. This represents a 2% increase compared to the same period last year, largely attributed to the strong performance of its customers during the FIFA World Cup.
Pontus Lindwall, the CEO of Betsson, commented on this achievement, stating, "Group revenue amounted to €310 million, the highest revenue level ever for Betsson in a single quarter. Our strategy is based on a balanced mix of B2C and B2B initiatives, and we are working hard to return to growth in B2B with both existing and new customers. The FIFA World Cup has provided a solid start to the third quarter."
Despite the revenue growth, overall profitability experienced a decline, influenced by a reduction in gross profits. Operating profits fell by 39%, totaling €42.2 million, while net profit dropped 38% to €30.4 million. These declines were primarily due to lower B2B revenue and increased gambling taxes in regulated markets.
In the regional landscape, Latin America emerged as Betsson's largest market, achieving a 32.3% revenue growth that brought totals to €112.1 million. Notable contributions came from countries like Argentina, Peru, and Colombia. Western Europe also showed significant results, with a record revenue of €64.2 million driven by consistent performance in Italy.
Currently, Betsson has 1.83 million active customers, representing an increase of nearly 30% year-on-year. Furthermore, the operational cash flow was notably strong, rising by 47% to €60.4 million. Looking ahead, Betsson is optimistic about future developments, attributing a surge in betting activity during July to the World Cup, with average daily revenue in the initial weeks of Q3 showing a 13.7% rise compared to the same time last year.
