SmartSoft has become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), marking a significant step in its ongoing commitment to the development of regulated gambling in Africa. This partnership, announced on Tuesday, aims to foster sustainable and responsible gambling markets across the continent.
SmartSoft, which has established a strong presence in Africa, previously co-hosted the iGB L!VE Africa Summit in July. By joining AiA, the company will engage in various activities, including regulatory discussions, strategic roundtables, and research initiatives alongside other key operators and suppliers in the sector.
Guram Gotsadze, the CEO of SmartSoft, emphasized that this alliance underscores the company's intensified focus on Africa and its dedication to fostering regulated and sustainable gaming markets. "Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," he stated.
Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of AiA, mentioned that SmartSoft has already made significant inroads in African markets and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with them on various issues, including B2B licensing, market access, responsible gaming, channelization, and sustainable regulation.
The AiA remarked that this partnership illustrates its mission to engage industry stakeholders in constructive dialogue as Africa's gambling market evolves. Kesitilwe noted, "Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators, and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent."
The recent Africa Safer Gambling Week, hosted by AiA, highlighted the importance of collaboration in the industry. Kesitilwe pointed out that discussions around safer gambling should lead to actionable measures. "The initiative demonstrates that cooperation does not have to remain at the level of conference and policy discussion," he explained. "It has to translate into practical action, educating players, engaging communities, protecting young people, and highlighting the dangers of illegal and unlicensed gambling."
