Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), which manages the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet, and Lottu brands, has been nominated for the prestigious Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026. The company's initiative, Costura Cidadã (Citizen Sewing), has earned a spot on the shortlist in the Responsible Business of the Year category. This project was launched during the Olinda Carnival, focusing on generating income, developing skills, and reinforcing the local creative economy.
Costura Cidadã stands out as the flagship of EGB’s broader social and environmental initiatives implemented during the 2026 Carnival festivities. Through this project, over 80 women from the local community received training in sewing and textile production, creating items for the brand’s Carnival activities, including the official event banner. This effort not only fostered employment opportunities but also contributed to the financial independence of the participants.
Marcela Campos, Vice President of Esportes Gaming Brasil Group, expressed the company’s dedication to engaging with local communities to provide significant support that results in a sustainable social and environmental impact. She stated, "Seeing the Costura Cidadã project recognised by an international award reinforces our commitment to combining investment in culture and entertainment with strengthening local economies and promoting social and environmental responsibility."
EGB's involvement in Olinda extended beyond vocational training. The company provided licensed street vendors with tailored stalls and comprehensive work kits that included branded shirts, cool boxes, umbrellas, and waist bags. Moreover, it supported over 40 historic Carnival groups and associations, helping to maintain the democratic and inclusive ethos of Olinda’s largest cultural celebration.
The initiative also had a broader geographic impact, as training programs were organized for recyclable waste collectors in Recife and Salvador. These programs covered proper waste disposal, supplied personal protective equipment, provided hydration support, and offered daily cash incentives during the festivities. Additionally, EGB reinforced the local economy in Caicó (Rio Grande do Norte) by commissioning local businesses to produce many of the promotional caps and hats used in their Carnival events.
To address environmental concerns, EGB initiated carbon offset projects to counterbalance emissions from its operations, and implemented responsible waste management and material reuse programs. The winners of the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026 will be selected by a panel of senior executives from the gaming industry and independently judged by KPMG. Organizers noted that the supporting information for EGB’s nomination mainly derived from media coverage of the Costura Cidadã project.
Iury Tavares, Press Manager at Esportes Gaming Brasil, commented on the significance of the nomination being largely based on media coverage, highlighting the role of effective communication in enhancing the visibility of social impact initiatives and extending their outreach beyond local communities.
The award winners will be announced on September 28 at The Venetian in Las Vegas during the Global Gaming Expo (G2E).
