Italian online gaming revenue surged by 25.4% in September, reaching €184.0 million across all verticals, according to Ficom Leisure. Online casino gaming was the most significant contributor, generating €92.7 million, a 29.2% increase compared to the previous year, although it saw a slight month-on-month decline of 2.2%.
When examining operator performance, Flutter Entertainment’s PokerStars led the market with a 12.2% share, followed by Sisal at 8.2%, with both companies maintaining similar shares. Lottomatica held third place with a 7.9% share.
In sports betting, revenue increased by 18.6% to €152.5 million, supported by solid performances in both online and retail channels. Retail betting revenue grew by 13.5% to €76.7 million, surpassing online betting contribution for the first time since February, as online revenue reached €75.8 million, up 24.1% year-on-year.
Snaitech led the overall market in September, capturing 16.0% of the total revenue. Goldbet followed closely with 15.5%, bolstered by its strong retail performance. Sisal, combining its shares across online and retail, accounted for 12.3% of the market.
Poker tournaments and cash games experienced modest year-on-year gains, with PokerStars continuing to dominate this sector. Bingo also saw similar growth.
