Inspired has entered into a partnership with the NBA to develop virtual games that will utilize archived footage from NBA games. Fans will have the opportunity to wager on these games in various ways, similar to what is available in traditional sportsbooks, offering money line bets and over/under total score options.
All 30 NBA teams will be part of these virtual games, which will also include coverage of the NBA All-Star Game, NBA Playoffs, and NBA Finals. Kuljeet Sindhar, the NBA's associate vice-president of international gaming and data ventures, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, "Virtual sports gaming continues to grow in popularity across the globe. We’re excited to embark on this unique collaboration with Inspired to engage our fans around virtual sports with real-game action."
Sindhar emphasized Inspired's role, noting that the company is a leader in the virtual sports space and will leverage immersive NBA game footage to provide an authentic experience, thus aiming to expand the NBA's global fanbase. Inspired's president and CEO, Brooks Pierce, remarked, "We are thrilled to offer basketball fans worldwide the one-of-a-kind experience of a Virtual Sports NBA game. Our use of archived NBA footage will produce a truly distinct virtual sports offering. This will be complete with fresh gaming experiences providing a unique way for fans to stay connected with the game."
Pierce also highlighted the value of the partnership, saying, "Our partnership with the NBA allows us to provide an incredible offering. It will elevate our customers’ brands and expand their reach to millions of basketball enthusiasts worldwide."
Inspired has established similar virtual sports partnerships with various sports organizations and operators, including a deal with the National Football League that allows for virtual sports wagering. Recently in May, the company renewed its agreement with Paddy Power, ensuring that its virtual sports products will continue to be available in Paddy Power's retail venues across the UK and Ireland. The relationship with Paddy Power has been extended multiple times.
