Kalshi has secured partnerships with five Major League Baseball teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, as the regular season nears its conclusion. The announcement, made on Tuesday, includes exclusive, multi-year branding agreements with the Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants.
Notably, Kalshi is currently barred from offering sports event contracts in Massachusetts, where the Red Sox are located, due to legal challenges from the state attorney general. Until the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court issues a ruling, the operator’s sports markets remain blocked.
The Dodgers, Padres, and Giants are among three California teams entering this collaboration, with California being a primary market for prediction activities despite sports wagering being illegal there.
With these new partnerships, nearly 25% of MLB teams are now affiliated with a prediction market operator, raising the total to seven teams in the league. The New York Mets previously became the first MLB team to tie up with a prediction market when they started a multi-year agreement with Novig in late July, shortly followed by Polymarket’s deal with the New York Yankees.
Kalshi expressed excitement about its deepening connection with baseball fans in a statement shared on X, highlighting their engagement with the game.
Fans attending games will soon see changes, starting with the Braves hosting the Dodgers for a three-game series on Tuesday night. Kalshi plans various in-stadium promotions, social media campaigns, and fan activations.
During the first matchup of the series, Tyler Glasnow will pitch for the Dodgers. As of 3 PM ET, Kalshi indicated a 60% probability for the Dodgers to win against the Braves. The prediction market also estimated a 27% chance for Shohei Ohtani to hit a home run and a 59% chance for Glasnow to record at least six strikeouts.
As the Dodgers kick off a six-game road trip, they return home on September 1 to face the St. Louis Cardinals. In connection with the multi-year deal, the Golden Glove Bar at Dodger Stadium will be renamed the Kalshi 435 Club. According to Kalshi, fans will gain access to specific promotions and exclusive activations throughout the season at Centerfield Plaza, where baseball-related trading volume has reportedly surged by 36 times over the past year.
Adam Barrick, Kalshi’s head of sports partnerships, stated that since fans are already engaging with their teams through Kalshi, it made sense to create these partnerships with major baseball franchises.
Regarding current World Series odds, the Dodgers had a notable 34% probability of winning the 2026 title as of Tuesday, meaning a $100 wager would yield a payout of approximately $282 if successful. The New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers trailed with around 10% odds each. In the American League, the Yankees stood at 24%, followed closely by the Tampa Bay Rays and the Red Sox at 22% and 15%, respectively.
As the Dodgers chase a third consecutive title, Ohtani aims for his third straight National League MVP. An MLB.com poll assessed 37 experts, placing Ohtani second to Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow Armstrong, who garnered 29 first-place votes. Armstrong holds a 67% MVP likelihood on Kalshi, with Alex Bregman far behind at just 1%.
Prior to the season, Polymarket announced its partnership with MLB, becoming the league’s exclusive prediction market exchange partner. This agreement followed a Memorandum of Understanding between MLB and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission regarding prediction markets.
While Major League Baseball did not comment on the Kalshi partnerships, the Red Sox acknowledged the collaboration on social media, responding to the news with an emoji to signal their approval.
