The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) in Brazil has taken decisive action, suspending fourteen licensed betting sites due to failures in meeting reporting obligations and adhering to responsible gambling guidelines. This move follows the initiation of sanction procedures back in August 2025, which led the SPA to implement seven protective measures aimed at safeguarding the interests of Brazilian citizens during the ongoing investigation.
As a result of this suspension, the affected operators must cease all gambling operations. However, they are allowed to withdraw funds from their accounts, though all other financial activities are prohibited. Should these operators defy the SPA's orders, they face substantial fines of BRL 200,000 for each day of non-compliance.
Out of the seven precautionary measures, five are linked to issues with the information management system, Sigap. This system allows the SPA to monitor betting volumes, revenues, and compliance with regulations in real-time. The remaining two measures pertain to failures in implementing adequate monitoring and control systems for assessing players in line with Brazil's responsible gambling standards.
Among those suspended, Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas faced two precautionary measures affecting its brand websites: pixbet.bet.br, ganhei.bet.br, and betdasorte.bet.br, due to lapses in responsible gambling compliance. Zeroumbet Digital Platform, which operates zeroum.bet.br, sportvip.bet.br, and energia.bet.br, was penalized for failing to submit necessary information for regulatory oversight.
Enseada Serviços e Tecnologia was ordered to halt operations on kbet.bet.br for not providing the required documentation to the regulatory agency. Select Operations, accountable for mma.bet.br, betvip.bet.br, and papigames.bet.br, also neglected to furnish the requested information. Additionally, Nexus International, associated with megaposta.bet.br, failed to upload essential documents through Sigap needed to verify its regulated activities. Finally, RR Participações e Intermediações de Negócios, which manages multibet.bet.br, rico.bet.br, and brx.bet.br, did not supply necessary information regarding its ownership structure, hindering the SPA's ability to evaluate various compliance matters.
This latest enforcement action underscores the SPA's ramped-up scrutiny over Brazil's regulated betting sector, particularly emphasizing the importance of real-time reporting and responsible gambling measures.
