Brazil has a lower stigma for sportsbook sponsorships than other countries. Most Brasileirao teams have signed similar deals. Both parties will be benefited by the agreement, which will significantly boost Fortaleza’s finances and give the Greek bookmaker an important visibility boost. Novibet continues to expand Latin America and is willing to spend a lot of money on establishing strong brand recognition.

Fortaleza is Now Among the Most-Funded Brazilian Clubs

The official Novibet partnership means that there are now 19 Brasileirao clubs being sponsored by online betting sites. Nearly all of the country’s top-profile football clubs have partnerships with operators. Cuiaba is the only exception to this rule after Luck.Bet didn’t renew their agreement. These extra funds are crucial to clubs’ competitiveness. Gambling sponsorships are significantly less divisive than they are in other countries.

This sponsorship will be Fortaleza’s largest in its history, and it will make it one of the most well-funded teams in the country. Marcelo Paz, president of Fortaleza, expressed his delight at the agreement. He said that the deal was a great way to highlight the club’s successes and fan base, and promised to continue to be a valuable partner.

This sponsorship will directly help us in our day to-day activities… We will do everything… in order to give the greatest return to those who invest in our shirt.

Marcelo Paz, Fortaleza president

For the next two seasons, the team will be paid R$ 20million ($3,83 million). Novibet will be prominently featured on the club’s shirts and shorts. The digital presence of the Greek operator will be maintained on Fortaleza’s website. Promotional messages will be displayed at Arena Castelao for the Brazilian Championship games.

Novibet Preparing the Ground for Future Expansion

Novibet is partnering with a well-known Brazilian team to further its Latin American ambitions. Recently the operator launched an online casino in Mexico with Big Bola, a brick-and-mortar operator of casinos. Novibet sees Brazil as a highly valuable and underutilized country. The company will benefit from partnering with a beloved football team to improve its public image and ease future expansion efforts.

Rodolfo Odoni, president of Novibet, confirmed Brazil’s status as a strategic market and praised Brazil’s rich sporting history and international football reputation. He spoke highly of Fortaleza, calling it a historical and beloved team and expressing his desire to lead the operator’s first ventures into Brazil and be a part its rich sports culture.

We want to be a major supporter of Brazilian football worldwide through this partnership… and all future ones.

Rodolfo Odoni, Novibet president

Although Novibet is eager to launch Brazil’s official sports betting platform, it may prove difficult due to the current political climate in Brazil. Although the government expressed its desire to revise the country’s sports betting regulations, progress has been slow. Novibet might need to wait until the market stabilizes before it can move in, as offshore operators are often unregulated.
