Kay Roberts, who was named Executive Director of Operations in September 2022 at the Gambling Commission has accepted the invitation to host the Safer Gambling Hub during the ExCeL London EAG. Officially opening the Hub will take place at 11am on January 10th.
Kay Roberts was a Head of Operations at Ombudsman Services, where she managed the provision of dispute resolution services for the Communications, Energy, and Parking sectors. Before joining the Gambling Commission, Kay had a long successful career. Over 15 years, she worked in local government and holds a degree on consumer protection.
Martin Burlin, EAG chairman, announced details about the opening and said that Kay Roberts had accepted the invitation to open the Hub. She will also be participating in the premier trade show for low-stake gambling, entertainment, and amusements industries.
Safer Gambling is the core of what the industry does every day. This will be demonstrated on the EAG Show Floor by the Safer Gambling Hub as well as the EAG Seminar entitled Safer Gambling: How to Improve Customer Engagement.”
This Hub will include leading non-profit organisations such as Betknowmore and Breakeven, ESG Gaming and GamStop. GamCare, GamCare, YGAM, bacta, and the Gambling Commission.
John White, Bacta’s CEO believes that the Safer Gambling Hub is a must-see at-show for anyone who wants to find out more about safer gambling. He also hopes to meet some of the most prominent authorities in this area.
His statement was: “For some years we have given space to safer gaming organisations that participate in EAG, but this is the first time we have brought all of them together in a Hub.” Bacta and the entire land-based gambling industry continue to make great strides in providing safer gambling experiences and helping reduce problems among consumers to their record low level.
EAG’s Safer Gambling Seminar (2-4 & 3 p.m., January 10th) brings together leading experts to talk about the industry’s progress in modernising customer engagement. Also to be discussed are steps to improve current practice and make it best-in-class.
